Anniversary with the whales in Monterey, November 6, 2014

On our 6th anniversary Bill and I spent the day in Monterey whale watching in the bay with Princess Monterey Whale Watching Tours.

Checked in and waiting to board

This cute little guy was enjoying his spot on the pier.

The boat and crew were great. These are a few shots I took as we were leaving the pier.

Bill was the first to spot this Killer whale. It was the only Killer whale spotting of the day.

We traveled out in the bay, parallel to  the Moss Landing Power plant.

We were lucky enough to see about 25 Humpback whales during our two hour tour.

We recommend dressing in layers. It was a beautiful day but we definitely needed gloves and hats the further out we went. When we were on our way back we went inside where it was heated and they even had a snack bar where warm beverages were available.

 This was an awesome anniversary!!!!!

Stay tuned for my next blog post of our trip home, stopping at Mission San Juan Bautista and Casa deFruita
