I have been sitting on the porch for weeks watching the mamma bird flying in and out of the bird house. As I tried to get close enough she would always fly away. Bot sure why I didn't think, till today to bring out the big guns. I set up my tripod, Sigma DG 500 mm lens and my Nikon remote. The remote is awesome because I could get the shot set up and when I saw mamma fly to the house I could snap the shot. We haven't seen the babies yet. I hope I can see them when they are ready to leave the nest.
I haven't used this lens for a couple years so I need to familiarize myself on focusing. I did get the shots, but I am not satisfied with the clarity. We have plenty of beautiful birds so I will get a lot of practice.
We have one nest above our front door. We have been watching the mamma bird fly in and out over the last few months. Yesterday we noticed three babies had hatched. I was able to get a picture before they fly off.
